SUMMARY:HPBC Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a regular meeting of the High Performance Building Council. We'll cover some council business and hear from a guest speaker. We're pleased to have Bourke Reeve\, founder of Built Environment\, LLC join us for this meeting.\n\n\n\nBourke is currently working with the South Carolina Energy Office and the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance on a residential energy field study in SC. This study will provide valuable information on construction practices in the state. \n\n \n\nResidential energy code field studies identify opportunities for training\, outreach and resource development to improve energy efficiency in single-family homes. Study results are totally anonymous and do not include any identifying information (home addresses\, code official names\, or builder names). Results are compiled for a statewide baseline which is shared with homebuilders\, code officials\, state agencies and other stakeholders. A few key points about the field study:\n\n	Our goal is to help increase energy savings and reduce energy costs for communities and homeowners.\n	The study is designed to take place during a single site visit\, prioritizing the most important information.\n	All data collected is confidential.\n	Findings help identify future training needs and opportunities. \n\nBourke is seeking opportunities to meet with stakeholders around the state to discuss the ongoing data collection\, answer questions and connect builders with the project team.
