SUMMARY:Workforce Development Taskforce Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The BIA Workforce Development Taskforce consists of multiple committees all working on different facets of the workforce development challenge. We have a School Liaison Committee in place and working but need to develop the other committees. These are to include:\n\n \n\n- Community Engagement: working with existing organizations to get potential workers into the construction industry\n\n- 'Ships: Develop a system to help members with Internships/Apprenticeships/Job Shadowing\, etc. AND a way to connect interested people with our members.\n\n- Marketing: Get word out that we have resources available to attract people to our industry\n\n- Grants/Fundraising: Raise money for Ad/PR efforts\, scholarships for trades\, etc.\n\n \n\nFor this meeting we will focus on the first two of those committees: Community Engagement and 'Ships.  All BIA Members who are interested in getting involved in these efforts are invited to attend.  We'll meet at the BIA Office at 625 Taylor Street in downtown Columbia starting at 3PM. A Zoom option is available if needed. Please register if you plan to attend.
