Construction Industry Day of Job Shadowing

Please consider hosting a high school student(s) for a day of job shadowing in the construction industry on February 29, 2024.  The purpose of this event is to provide students with an authentic learning experience that allows them to observe and engage in the construction industry. Participating students will be at least 16 years of age, and a junior in high school.  These are students who have expressed an interest in learning more about career opportunities in construction such as masonry, carpentry, HVAC, mechanical engineering, project management, electrical, real estate, architecture, land clearing, heavy equipment and more.  Students will provide their own transportation.  For liability purposes, students are covered by their school district’s insurance policy while they participate in extended learning opportunities during the school day.  This activity is an extension of their school day.  Job shadow experiences should last at least 3 hours or length of the school day, 8:00 – 2:00 p.m. The timeframe is up to the employer's discretion.
