BIA/Lexington County Quarterly Meeting
BIA Members are invited to quarterly meetings with staff of Lexington County to discuss various topics concerning land development and the residential building process. Our goal is to open lines of communication between builders and county staff to foster a good working relationship and work through any issues of concern before they become problematic.
Members are asked to register in advance for these meetings.
See the agenda for this meeting below.
Land Development 9:05am
Recap of issues covered at last meeting:
- Staffing and workflow of permits and plats; plan review process
- Addressing/GIS: improving speed; common areas need recorded addresses and 911 integration
- Planting Ordinance: timing of planting, bonded plat and irrigation.
- Projected procedures for Concurrency Requirements, and progress to this point
- Ordinance 23-17 and the new overlays
- As built surveys will now be required to verify house placement. Any home less than 6’ from property line would need extra attention( fire rated soffit or wall etc)
- Building permits are held up for other departments. Land development, zoning etc. FYI we keep getting calls that we have had it long enough but it isn’t waiting on building.
- Homes are constantly being built on top of brick and anchors installed to, through or into the brick.
- Other items from staff as time allows
