Construction Industry Job Shadow Day
Dear Construction Industry Partners,
Please consider hosting a student(s) for a day of job shadowing in the construction industry on October 26, 2023, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The purpose of this event is to provide students with an authentic learning experience in the field of construction. Students are required to be at least 16 years of age, juniors and seniors in high school and currently enrolled in construction related courses.

The purpose of this event is to provide students an authentic learning experience that allows them to observe and engage in the construction industry. Participating students will be at least 16 years of age, and a junior in high school. These are students who have expressed an interest in learning more about career opportunities in construction such as masonry, carpentry, HVAC, Mechanical engineering, project management, electrical, etc.
Students will provide their own transportation. For liability purposes, students are covered by their school district's insurance policy while they participate in extended learning opportunities during the school day. This activity is an extension of their school day. Job shadow experiences should last at least 3 hours or length of the school day, 8:00a - 2:00p.
The last day to register is Friday, October 13, 2023. Once job shadow assignments are finalized you will receive a student roster and educator contact information by Friday, October 20, 2023. MEBA will work with the BIA of Central SC, ABC Carolinas, NAWIC, Carolinas AGC and other industry partners to coordinate these extended learning opportunities and place students on a first-come, first-serve basis, taking into consideration their regional location and area of interest.
