✔ Lower Insurance Costs – South Carolina businesses pay 49% higher insurance rates than North Carolina. The main reason is our broken legal system and the loopholes in our statute of repose.
✔ We Are Losing Coverage – Nine major insurers have stopped writing general liability policies for subcontractors working with builders, especially, in coastal counties. Without reform, more will follow.
✔ This is NOT About Big Insurance – Our tort laws make South Carolina an outlier, driving insurers out of the market and leaving builders, subcontractors, and small businesses with skyrocketing costs or no coverage at all.
