October 11 is the deadline to register to host students for the Fall Construction Industry Day of Job Shadowing being held October 24, 2024. Students will provide their own transportation, will be at least 16 years old and are covered by their school district's insurance policy. Construction Industry Day of Job Shadowing

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., may fluctuate based on employer schedule. This activity is an extension of the student's school day.
Location: Determined by each employer
Registration: Click here. Once you register, you'll be paired up with student(s) interested in your field and you will receive that list of student(s) a week prior to the 24th.
Overview:
The purpose of this event is to provide students an authentic learning experience that allows them to observe and engage in the construction industry. Participating students will be at least 16 years of age, and a junior in high school. These are students who have expressed an interest in learning more about career opportunities in construction such as masonry, carpentry, HVAC, mechanical engineering, project management, electrical, etc. Students will provide their own transportation. For Liability purposes, students are covered by their school district's insurance policy while the participate in extended learning opportunities during he school day. This activity is an extension of their school day. Job shadow experiences should last at least three hours of the school day, 8:00a to 2:00p. The timeframe is up to the employer's discretion.
The last day to register is Friday, Oct. 11, 2024
Once job shadow assignments are finalized you will receive a student roster and educator contact information beginning Friday, October 18, 2024. MEBA will work with the BIA, ABC Carolinas, NAWIC, Carolinas AGC and other industry partners to coordinate this extended learning opportunity and place students on a first-come, first-serve basis, taking into consideration their regional location and area of interest (HVAC, carpentry, architecture, welding, real estate, roofing, electrical, etc.).
